Towards a new urban agendaListen /
By the middle of the century, the majority of the world's citizens—four out of five people—could be living in towns or cities.
Creating a so-called "New Urban Agenda" which promotes sustainable city development is one of the goals of a UN conference to be held later this year in Ecuador.
Joan Clos is Executive Director of UN-Habitat, the UN programme which promotes adequate shelter for all people, and the organizers of the conference.
Monica Villela Grayley caught up with Mr Clos at a meeting in Mexico on financing for urban development.
