Strongest UN sanctions “in two decades” imposed on North KoreaListen /
The toughest sanctions regime "in two decades" has been imposed by the United Nations Security Council on the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, or DPRK.
The resolution, which was adopted unanimously, introduces major economic sanctions, in an effort to bring DPRK back to the negotiating table over its nuclear and ballistic weapons programme.
In January, the Asian country, which is also known as North Korea, claimed to have tested a hydrogen bomb in its fourth nuclear test.
