Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon movie star joins UN to fight poverty

The star of the Oscar-winning movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon has committed to working with the UN Development Programme (UNDP) to fight global poverty and the inequality between men and women.

The Malaysian-born actress, Michelle Yeoh, will focus on raising awareness and mobilizing support for the recently launched Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

She was unveiled as a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador in New York, where Maoqi Li began by asking her what had sparked her interest in promoting gender equality.
