Libya is in the grip of widespread human rights violations that may amount to war crimes amid a dramatically worsening situation for people there, the UN said on Thursday.

Announcing the findings of a new report into abuses in the war-torn country, the UN Human Rights Office, OHCHR, highlighted that all warring parties bear responsibility.

Among its recommendations, the report calls for the International Criminal Court (ICC) to be given more resources to investigate and prosecute those responsible for atrocities in the North African state.

OHCHR's Gurdip Sangha describes what the investigators found in their report to Daniel Johnson.
