30,000 foreign terrorist fighters actively engaged with ISIL

Around 30,000 foreign terrorist fighters originating from over 100 countries are actively engaged with the ISIL or associated groups.

That's according to the UN Secretary-General's very first report on the threat of ISIL to international peace and security.

The substantial flow of fighters from around the world as well as the increasing number of groups pledging allegiance to the cause are major sources of concern.
