The heroic acts of a British man who saved 669 Jewish children from near certain death were remembered this morning at the UN's Holocaust Remembrance Day events.

Sir Nicolas Winton is credited with organizing eight trains to carry the children out of occupied Prague in Czechoslovakia during the Second World War. The children were brought to the United Kingdom, and resettled with British families.

Sir Nicolas passed away this past July at the age of 106.

Veronica Reeves spoke with his daughter, Barbara Winton, who was a special guest at this year's Holocaust commemoration events at UN headquarters in New York.

She asked Ms Winton how her father's heroic efforts went on to shape his life.
