Africa wants strong agreement on adaptation to climate change

The international community must pursue a strong agreement at the climate change summit in Paris, in order to help Africa adapt to potentially-devastating changes in weather patterns. That's according to a senior voice within the African Union. Around 150 heads of states and government have been meeting in the French capital, for the UN's COP21 summit. It's hoped world leaders will agree a universal deal which will keep global temperature rises to below two degrees Celsius. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma is the head of the African Union Commission. She's been speaking to Cristina Silveiro.

World on "Fast Track" to end AIDS by 2030

The report was launched ahead of World AIDS Day, commemorated on 1 December. Dianne Penn reports.

Former Sierra Leonean child soldier wants to put human face on suffering

A former child soldier from Sierra Leone has said he wants to put a human face on the suffering of children who are forced to go to war. Ishmael Beah was recruited into the West African country's brutal civil war as a 13-year old but with the help of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) managed to escape from the front lines. He's now a UNICEF Advocate for Children Affected by War and has recently been in South Sudan which is now experiencing its own civil conflict. Mr Beah began by telling Sebit William about his experience.
