Thousands of people fleeing violence and food insecurity in South Sudan continue to arrive at the UN's site to protect civilians in Bentiu, according to the UN mission in the country, UNMISS.

UNMISS acting spokesman Joe Contreras said the site is sheltering 121,191 people; 10,602 arrived in August alone.

A new peace deal between the President and former Vice President of the youngest African nation aims to end nearly two years of conflict that has killed tens of thousands of people and caused millions to flee their homes.

Sani Martin spoke with Mr Contreras about the influx of internally displaced people and what's causing it to continue.
