"Staggering" number of children on the run in Nigeria

Around 1.4 million children have fled their homes in north-east Nigeria and neighbouring countries following a recent uptick in violence in the region, the UN has said.

A sharp increase in attacks by the Boko Haram terrorist group is to blame for the increasing number of displaced children, according to the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Basma Baghall spoke to UNICEF's Najwa Mekki about the conditions on the ground and what it all means for the region's young people.
