Digitization of financial services "crucial' for Rwanda's future

The digitization of financial services and the move towards a cashless society is "crucial' for Rwanda's future according to the African country's Minister of Finance and Economic Planning.

It's hoped that the change from a cash economy will help to boost private investment and improve public governance.

Priscilla Lecomte has been speaking to Minister Claver Gatete on the margins of a UN summit on the new global development goals.

She began by asking why Rwanda was pushing ahead with the digitization plan.
