The struggles and triumphs of ordinary people in South Sudan have been displayed in a photo exhibit in Juba supported by the UN cultural agency, UNESCO.

Twenty young journalists from the African country showcased pictures they took after completing a two-week photojournalism workshop on how to report on conflicts in a sensitive way.

South Sudan continues to face upheaval as government forces battle rebels.

During the exhibition, the trainees were given an opportunity to share the stories behind their photos.

David Lukan reports from the nation's capital, Juba.
