Sexual relations between UN personnel and the local population in Haiti are firmly prohibited when the relationship is exploitative, which is most often the case in the Caribbean country.

That's according to a Conduct and Discipline Officer of the UN mission in Haiti, MINUSTAH.

Charles Mengalle says sexual relations are strongly discouraged by the UN, but they are not forbidden.

To learn more about these policies, Stephanie Coutrix spoke with Mr Mengalle at MINUSTAH's headquarters in the capital Port-au-Prince.

She began by asking him about the most common questions on the issue asked by staff during training sessions.
