A teenage activist has some strong words for adults when it comes to taking action on climate change.

Xiuhtezcatl Tonatiuh Roske Martinez, 15, wants grown-ups to quit "having a party on the planet and leaving it for us to clean up."

He said while some young people either don't know or don't care about the issue, millions of their peers understand its importance yet feel powerless about responding.

Tonatiuh, who's Mexican-American, addressed a high-level meeting on climate change held this week in the UN General Assembly.

He told Cesar Romero how his "passion" for activism was inspired by his father.
