Developing countries are getting assistance with strengthening their tax systems in order to promote development.

The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) say the move will allow countries to raise more revenue for spending on public services and social support without compromising growth or fairness.

Priscilla Lecomte caught up with Sean Nolan, Deputy Director of the IMF's Strategy, Policy and Review department, at the Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD), held this week in Ethiopia.

He spoke about the many ways the fund is helping developing countries, including through zero-interest loans.
