Consultations in Burundi to find solution to electoral process

As protests continue in Burundi against the President's attempt to seek a third term, the UN is looking at ways to solve the political crisis in the country.

A reported 40,000 people have fled the country to Rwanda, the DR Congo and Tanzania due to civil unrest.

Vladimir Monteiro, a spokesperson for the UN Electoral Observation Mission in Burundi (MENUB) says the Organization is committed to support peaceful, credible and inclusive elections.

Cristina Silveiro spoke with Mr Monteiro on the line from Bujumbura and began by asking him about the situation in the capital.
