Women seen as key to reversing global ageing population

Women may hold the key to reversing the trend of the world's rapidly ageing workforce, according to the International Labour Organization.

The share of older workers aged 55 or above in the global workforce has increased by around 4 per cent over the past quarter of a century.

The UN agency says employing more women will not only help to reduce unemployment and bring down the average age of workers but will also be economically beneficial.
