Terrorist groups find new funding opportunities

Terrorist groups are finding new ways to raise funds for their extremist activities, according to a senior UN official dealing with the issue.

These groups, which include ISIL in Syria and Iraq, Al Qaeda affiliates in Yemen, and Boko Haram in Nigeria, are notorious for the atrocities they commit against civilians.

Jean-Paul Laborde, the Executive Director of the Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee is attending the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, in Doha Qatar.

Jorge Miyares caught up with Mr. Laborde to discuss the problem of terrorism and how it is financed.
