An Asian pop singer, academic, novelist and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Japan is urging the warring factions in South Sudan to stop fighting for what she called "the sake of the children."

Agnes Chan is in the country's Western Equatoria state to assess the availability of education for children.

South Sudan continues to endure a conflict which has pitted government forces against rebels.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced and many children have been unable to attend school.

Felix Francis Katie has been speaking to Agnes Chan. He began by asking her about what she had seen in Western Equatoria.
