Women in Afghanistan prove they can equally contribute to society

Women in Afghanistan need to be recognized as active participants in society not just as victims, according to the UN Mission in the country, UNAMA.

The UN says that Afghanistan is on the path to becoming a nation where every woman and girl is empowered to exercise her rights, but many challenges remain.

UNAMA recently marked International Women's Day under the theme "Afghan women as stakeholders in building family, society and their country."
