A new round of UN-led peace talks aimed at ending Libya's political crisis is set to begin later this week, the Special Envoy for Libya has said.

Speaking via video conference, Bernardino León told the Security Council that the major political stakeholders have agreed to meet in Morocco.

The talks hope to bring an end to factional fighting since Muammar al-Qhadafi was overthrown nearly four years ago.
