Dutch support disaster reduction with "holistic approach"

The Netherlands is supporting countries that are prone to disasters through what it is calling a "holistic approach."

That means taking into account the environment of a country and the particular risks it faces whilst working with local people to come up with the best way to prepare for catastrophes.

The international community is discussing disaster preparedness in Sendai, Japan at the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.

Nan Zheng asked Princess Margriet Francisca of the Netherlands what message she is bringing to the conference.
