Global food prices drop to 55-month low in February

Global food prices declined in February to their lowest level since July 2010, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The FAO Food Price Index dropped by one per cent from January and 14 per cent below its level in February last year.

The Index is a measure of the monthly change in international prices of a basket of food commodities.
