Role of caregiver turns fatal for women in Ebola stricken countries

Women died in large numbers due to the role they play as caregivers, according to the head of UN Women.

Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director of UN Women, says women were the first to respond to the Ebola crisis and that their instinct to touch those who were sick resulted in further infection.

Stephanie Castro has been speaking to Ms Mlambo-Ngcuka about the effects the Ebola crisis has had on women and the role they will play in the post Ebola recovery process.
