Uzbekistan seeks to strengthen rule of law by improving access to justice

The Rule of law and access to justice must play an important role in development across the world, a senior UN official has said. Helen Clark, Administrator of the UN Development Programme, made the remarks during a recent visit to Uzbekistan. Bobur Komilov asked Ms Clark about some of the positive outcomes achieved by her visit.

Global brands urged to absorb cost increases of Cambodia minimum wage

Garment workers in Cambodia are celebrating following the introduction of a new minimum wage, which will bring monthly earnings to US$128. The UN's International Labour Organization has been an active partner in Cambodia's economic, social and democratic recovery. It's played an important role in helping to generate sustainable employment. As Jocelyne Sambira reports, it's now asking the clothing industry to place its part.

Azerbaijan promises broadband internet access to all its citizens

People across Azerbaijan, even those living in remote rural areas, are to have access to high-speed by 2017, according to a senior government official.  It's hoped expand the delivery of electronic public services or e-services that would for example allow access to public records or apps to help people manage their healthcare. Dr Ali Abbasov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Communications and High Technologies, made the announcement at a recent conference organized by the ITU, the International Telecommunications Union. Dr Abbasov has been speaking with Maximillian Jacobson-Gonzalez.
