Rural Nepali women (UNTV video capture)

Toilets are one of the basic necessities that people in developed countries take for granted, but it is not so for millions of people especially in rural areas of poor countries.

The UN estimates that globally, about two and a half billion people don't have access to a clean toilet and about one billion of them practice open defecation.

Nepal in South Asia is one of the countries where open defecation remains a serious problem for people in rural areas.

The situation is even worse for a blind old woman, as Mahbub Ahmad reports.
