Progress in provision of water and sanitation but challenges remain

There has been progress in the provision of water, sanitation and hygiene to people around the world, but challenges still remain, particularly in rural areas.

That's according to the UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS) 2014 report released on Wednesday.

The report, which is published twice a year, presents data from 94 countries and 23 external support agencies.
