Accountability for all crimes committed against women and girls in Afghanistan should remain a focus of the Afghan government and the international community.

The call from the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against women, Rashida Manjoo, came at the end of her seven-day visit to the country.

It was the first visit to Afghanistan since 2005, by an independent expert charged by the UN Human Rights Council to monitor, report and advise on the situation of women and violence around the world.

Setyo Budi reports.
