Records play a critical role to bring justice and reconciliation processes, according to the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide.

Adama Dieng on Tuesday participated in discussions at UN Headquarters on the impact of archival documents towards the development of international law.

In July, records from the UN War Crimes Commission were made public after having been restricted for more than 70 years, with only limited access to historians and researchers since 1987.
