A healthy breakfast can help prevent diabetes type 2

Eating a healthy breakfast can help prevent developing type 2 diabetes, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Around 350 million people worldwide have diabetes, a chronic disease linked to the body's production or use of insulin, the hormone that regulates blood sugar.

In the case of diabetes type 2, the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces which can lead to cardiovascular issues and an early death.

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, Stephanie Coutrix spoke with Dr Gojka Roglic, a specialist in non-communicable diseases at WHO.

He began by explaining the main cause of the disease.
