The future recovery of Syria is dependent on the education of its children, according to the Executive Director of the UN Children's Fund, UNICEF.

UNICEF recently marked one year since the launch of the "No Lost Generation" initiative which aims to alleviate the impact of the Syrian crisis on children's learning and psychological well-being.

In the past three and a half years of civil war, UNICEF says Syrian children have been marked by displacement, destruction, terror, and trauma.

The UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake explained to Stephanie Coutrix why supporting the education of Syrian children is essential.
