World at risk of losing audiovisual heritage: UNESCO

The world is at risk of losing its audiovisual heritage of sound recordings and moving images due to neglect, natural decay, technological obsolescence and deliberate destruction.

This warning has come from the UN cultural agency, UNESCO on World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, observed on 27 October each year.

The agency says this problem is affecting all countries, developed and developing alike.

To find out more about this problem, Priscilla Lecomte spoke to Iskra Panevska, an audiovisual expert at UNESCO .
