"Under siege" United Nations remembered by retiring official

A United Nations which has been described as an organization "under siege" by the international community, a decade ago, has been remembered by a senior retiring official.

Robert Orr, joined the UN under Secretary-General Kofi Annan, a time when the United States had serious concerns about the organization relating to the war in Iraq.

Ahead of his retirement, Elizabeth Philip has been speaking to Mr Orr, who is now Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination and Strategic Planning.

She began by asking him about his motivation for working at the United Nations?
