Rise of global crises impact security of women, girls

Increased violence around the world, mass displacement and humanitarian catastrophes have been detrimental to the security of women and girls, according to the UN.

On Tuesday, the Security Council held a debate on the situation of refugee, displaced and stateless women and girls.

Countries addressed the need to protect these groups as well as the challenge of involving them in peace-making and in peace-building.
