Governments around the world are meeting on Friday at UN Headquarters to discuss ways of boosting the economic development of some of the poorest countries in the world.

Thirty-two so called Landlocked Developing Countries, or LLDCs, are preparing for a 10-year review conference, which will take place later this year in Vienna. The conference will address the special development needs and challenges LLDCs are still facing.

The countries have a combined population of 440 million, with no direct territorial access to the sea.
