"Deteriorating humanitarian situation" as drought hits Somalia

The humanitarian situation in Somalia is deteriorating as drought conditions take hold, according to the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in the Horn of Africa country.

Over one million people are in need of assistance.

At least 50,000 children are said to be close to death.

The Al Shabaab terrorist group has been driven from a number of cities but is now blocking some food supply routes.

Daniel Dickinson has been speaking to UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Philippe Lazzarini.
