"Better relationship" needed between development and sustainable use of biodiversity

A "better relationship" is needed between development and the sustainable use of the world's biodiversity, according to the Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme, UNEP.

Biodiversity refers to the variety of the world's natural resources.

The international community is currently meeting in Pyeongchang in Korea to review the progress made in reaching global targets set out in UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

Florencia Soto Nino asked the UNEP chief, Achim Steiner, about the link between sustainable development and protecting the natural world.
