Women Speakers represent less than 15 per cent of all Speakers of Parliament in the world, according to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
To tackle this inequality, senior women parliamentary leaders recently met in Geneva at the annual meeting of the IPU.
They looked at how women can take a lead in building a social, cultural and legal environment conducive to their economic empowerment.
Patrick Maigua spoke with Rebecca Kadaga, Speaker of the National Assembly of Uganda, who says she has been told she is doing a man’s job.
