Hundreds of partnerships between small island developing states or SIDS and the private sector are being successfully forged at a major international conference according to the President of the UN General Assembly.
A key theme of the SIDS 2014 conference which is underway on the Pacific Ocean island of Samoa is boosting development through partnerships.
The more than 50 countries and territories around the world which have been designated as SIDS are characterized by their small size, remoteness and susceptibility to climate change.
