Mass atrocities by Government forces and non-State armed groups continue in Syria, causing immeasurable suffering to civilians, according to a UN report released on Wednesday.

The report marks the third anniversary of the establishment of a UN Commission of Inquiry for Syria.

War crimes and violations of international human rights law are increasing in terms of intensity and in terms of the people involved, the Chairperson of the Commission said.

Paulo Pinheiro told Patrick Maigua that the world must remain focused on the conflict because the spill over of violence can destabilize the region.
