An appeal for $14 million to scale up health operations in eastern Ukraine has been launched by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Thousands of people have been displaced by the ongoing fighting in Donetsk and Luhansk region.

According to WHO, 15 hospitals have been damaged, 20 health facilities have closed and 70 per cent of health workers in conflict areas have fled their places of work.
