Spread of Ebola in West Africa remains a concern for UN

The World Health Organization (WHO) continues to ramp up its responses to the outbreak of the Ebola virus disease that has claimed more than 1, 000 lives in West Africa.

The United Nations has launched a system-wide coordination initiative to assist Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone in their efforts to stop the spread of the disease.

Dr. David Nabarro, the UN System Coordinator for Ebola, says the disease which is affecting societies and economies, has humanitarian and security consequences.

Elizabeth Philip sat down with Dr. Nabarro to get an update on the outbreak of the disease and the efforts to control it.
