A memorial service has been held in the capital Juba on Friday for the victims of a helicopter crash , according to the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

The bodies of the three Russian crew members who were killed in the crash near Bentiu in South Sudan's Unity State were flown home.

Speaking at the service, the UN humanitarian Coordinator in South Sudan, Toby Lanzer, said the Mission is committed to "ascertain the circumstances" that caused the accident.

"Our teams have already started preliminary investigations and will continue to work to ensure that the full details of this horrific event are brought to light as quickly as possible and also with utmost clarity and certainty. We will take no comfort from these findings but we will work tirelessly to ensure that no such incident never happens again." (25")

This is the second time that a United Nations helicopter was downed in South Sudan.

In 2012, a helicopter was shot down near Gumuruk Payam of Pibor County in Jonglei State.
