A 72-hour humanitarian ceasefire agreed to by both parties to the Gaza conflict is holding, the UN Relief and Development Agency (UNRWA) confirmed on Wednesday.

The truce started on Tuesday at 8:00 am local time.

Meanwhile, Israeli and Palestinians delegations are in Cairo to hold talks under the auspices of the Egyptian government.

On the ground, relief workers are scrambling to get emergency aid in the form of food, water and medical care, to those who need it the most.
