On average, thirty-six people are killed every day in eastern Ukraine in the fighting between armed groups and government forces, according to a new UN report.

Released by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on Friday, the report details the human rights situation in the country.

The number of casualties has more than doubled in total since the last report issued a month ago.

The sustained and intense fighting is taking a toll on the human rights and humanitarian situation in that part of the country.

Gianni Magazzeni, the head of the Americas, Europe and Central Asia Branch at the UN Human Rights Office in Geneva briefed Patrick Maigua on the situation.
