Australia promotes appropriate broadband technology for developing countries

Developing countries that want to boost Internet access should adopt technologies that are most appropriate to their particular situation.

That's according to Malcolm Turnbull, the Minister for Communications, in Australia.

He's advocating focussing on the goal of increasing broadband connectivity using the best available resources and not necessarily choosing the newest technology.

Mr Turnbull has been speaking to Maximillian Jacobson-Gonzalez of the UN’s International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

He began by explaining why Australia has invested so heavily in broadband technology.
