Youth leader campaigns for recognition by world leaders on environmental issues

A youth leader from India is calling on world governments to take more notice of the views of young people when they formulate environmental policies.

Yugrama Srivastava is a representative of Tunza, a youth project of the UN Environment Programme.

She has been attending the inaugural meeting of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Assembly is a new world body that places environmental issues at the heart of international affairs.

Ms Srivastava has been involved in a number of international lobbying efforts including the Copenhagen climate change conference.
