An $80 million boat with seven laboratories is in the works to continue collecting data on marine ecosystems, climate change and pollution off the coast of Africa.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) announced on Monday that Norway is building the vessel known as Dr Fridtjof Nansen.
It will replace an older craft which has been conducting research with 32 African countries in Africa since 1993.
Detailed information on marine resources has helped those countries to better manage fisheries..
