A "modest but meaningful contribution" to peace and security in Syria has been made following the "100 per cent removal" of the country's chemical weapons material.

That's according to the Special Coordinator of the joint mission of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the United Nations.

The OPCW-UN Joint Mission is mandated by the Security Council to oversee the elimination of Syria’s chemical weapons by the end of the month.

Reem Abaza has been speaking to the Special Coordinator, Sigrid Kaag.
