Another poor harvest in Somalia could lead to repeat of 2011 famine

Somalia could face another famine if September's harvest is as poor as the previous one, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Late rains and erratic weather patterns in Somalia have raised concerns over the worsening food security situation in the Horn of Africa country.

The concerns are raised in the Global Information Early-Warning Systems report published by FAO.

Speaking to Sandra Ferrari, Mario Zappacosta, a lead author of the report describes the situation in on the ground as "tough".
