An organization led by woman has been working for 20 years to provide education in Afghanistan.
Working underground when the country was ruled by the Taliban, the Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) has provided teacher training and supported education for girls and boys.
The organization, which has also delivered health services to women and children, believes that it has touched the lives of 10 million people in Afghanistan.
Alex Goldmark from the UN Children's agency (UNICEF) spoke to the founder and president of the Afghan Institute of Learning, Dr. Sakena Yacoobi, about the work of her organization.
